I am an artist and graphic designer, based in London. I am a graduate of the Slade School of Fine Art and am currently studying MA Graphic Design at the London College of Communication, University of the Arts London.
This website forms part of my research towards my Final Major Project which asks the question: How can typography reinforce the understanding of a text and amplify the authorial voice within it? Using recipe books as source material, this project will examine the ways that typography can be used to make a text comprehensible to the reader and how typography can be used to amplify the presence of the authorial voice.
This website is an audit of cook books. Using a written analysis of each cook book that attempts to unravel the graphic language as a series of signs, I hope to be able to articulate the underlying message(s) each book is transmitting as a way of understanding how design communicates meaning.
